Fall/Autumn Transitions

Fall, Autumn what ever you call it: it's coming soon. Pumpkin lattes, apple candles, crunchy leaves, and so much more. All of these things make me so excited for the season!

Which brings me to one of my favorite things to do, picking out an outfit that transitions from summer to fall.

I found a lovely outfit that I find is the perfect transition:

I love this look because of the summerniss (a new word I guess?) of overalls paired with a dark orange trimmed with bronze speckles.

Anyways I love this new outfit and always am happy to put together a new outfit. What's your fall/autumn transition outfit? What are you doing to get into the autumn spirit?

Have a special day

Mac Hall!!

I picked up some absolutely lovely stuff today and am soooo excited to share with ya'll!

I have heard many great things about mac cosmetics and have never tried it. I have always used clinique makeup because that is what my sister used. However I find it did not suit my skin as well as it did hers so I wanted a change. I've heard plenty of good things about mac and am so excited to use such pretty makeup!

I went to two mac stores and had excellent service at both!

These are all the things I got in the packaging. Sorry for the ugly picture but I tried to make it look somewhat presentable.

And here is all of the haul outside of the packaging!

1. Powder/Blush in Harmony
2. Matte Lipstick in Please Me
3. Eye-shadow in Navy Times Nine
4. False Lashes Waterproof Mascara in Stay Black
5. Fluid Line Eye Pencil in Black Brilliance
6. Studio Water-weight SPF 30 Foundation in the color nc20 (I think)
7. Mineralize concealer in nw25
8. Clear Brow Finish
9. mac 168 brush
10. mac 188 brush
11. and finally the mac 217 brush

I have been using these lovely products for a little less then a week and already have some favorites, that have made their way into my daily routine!

I have never been much for eyebrows however I love (and I mean LOVE) the clear brow finish. I think it really helps pull my unruly brows together sense it is a waxy substance and makes them look very nice and put together.

The next thing I love is the Mac 188 brush which really help to put on foundation very nicely.

Which brings me to the foundation which is amazing! It really helps to make my skin even. I definitely recommend it!

That's all I have for today. What's you're favorite makeup stores/things?

Have a gorgeous day,

Mandy

Lush Cosmetics

Many of you might not know this but I have a secret obsession and it's Lush !

Normally I'm not one to spend much money on things people won't see, however I feel like cosmetics are an exception for me. Maybe its because my mom put such an emphasis on "treating your self"(Ok I may be the only one, but now when ever I think of that phrase I think of "Treat Yo Self" in Parks in Recreation with Donna and Tom!). I feel that putting in the extra time to have a bubble bath really helps my self esteem. As high school girl I am very self-conscious and by spending a little extra time on my self helps to make my life seem clearer.

Now the reason why I chose Lush Cosmetics as my go-to for cosmetics is, well lets put it in a list:

  1. They are known for using fresh ingredients in their products and not for using harmful chemicals.
  2. Animal friendly, they do not test on animals which I fully support. I love animals, and ever since I watched "Legally Blond 2" when I became aware that animals were actually tested on, it broke my heart.
  3. Lush is the perfect gift for my vegetarian/vegan friends. I always have a hard time finding them gifts and I feel it's showing extra thought and care when I chose a present that promotes vegetarian/vegan lifestyle. Also I'm awful at wrapping presents and it comes in wrapping already!

I could go on and on about how much I love Lush but you get the idea. Lush can be pricey, so if you are on a budget it may be harder to find something in your price range their, however I feel it is worth it.

Anyone else Lush Fanatics, or another awesome Cosmetics shop, please tell me in the comments!

Now here are some of my favourite Lush Products at the moment:

I just started experimenting with Lush's shampoo and found one that I enjoy. It's called Curlly Wurly and is made of coconuts, I typically don't like the smell of coconuts but this is an exception. I enjoyed the sense and felt like I was definitely getting my money worth of the product. I don't know if you can see from the picture but it's not your typical shampoo it has a real thick consistency (because of the coconut shreds), a little goes a long way. price $25.95 usd.

Ok, so the American Cream has to be my favourite conditioner I have ever tried. I first got a small bottle of it (3.3 oz) but new I had to get more! It smells like a strawberry milkshake (which are my favourite) mixed with vanilla. price for 16.9 oz (one seen in the picture) is $32.95 usd.

Here are two products I got from a Lush gift that my sis gave to me. Happy Hippy is a shower jell with a grape fruit sense. I love grapefruit so it smells luxurious! price $9.50 usd
Vanilla Puff Powder is my go-to for a scent that I can put on easily when I am on the go. A little goes a long way so I love it! price $6.95 usd

I love Lush Sea Spray it smells delicious and it adds texture to hair!
price: $12.95 usd

Here is a picture I got from the online Lush store, one of their rapped presents and it's just so cute and convenient too!

With a heart of love and a pocket of sincerity,

Mandy

A Clear Day on Mothers Day

Yesterday was mothers day everyone and I had a lovely day cherishing my mum. I gave my present to my mum this morning along with blueberry scones and raspberry jelly(homemade of course!), an omelet, bacon, and for drink we made some oolong tea for her which I absolutely love. Needless to say it was a delicious breakfast and a great start to our mothers day. We then hung around the house all day and ended up watching "Lady and the Tramp". Which is possibly one of the most beautifully animated movies ever, with unbelievably darling charters.

Anyways since I knew today was mothers day and we were doing a celebration at our church we attend I had to get a knew outfit (this all happened last night). I was in a rehearsal until 8:00 and so the only place where I could find a cheap dress was at forever 21(not my first choice for shopping but it would do). Luckily my sister drives super fast and we got to the mall but then came the awful pressure of trying to find a perfect dress for mothers day. I didn't want something to basic but it is just so hard to find the perfect dress in one store that would fit my price range of $20. I felt pressured and annoyed and I absolutely hate shopping when I have a time limit. I have noticed, as a girl who shops a lot, that I plan months ahead to finally get what exactly I want. I recently made a fairly large purchase spending over $300 that I had planned since December.  So when the pressure is on me to find the perfect outfit for mothers day in 30 minutes it gives me anxiety!

Luckily I found a decent dress (actually outfit), its certainly not my most favourite out of my wardrobe but I'm excited that I was able to pull the whole thing off and look decent for mothers day. The price came in total to be $30.00 for a cream coloured dress, shoes, and hair accessory bows (Pictures are below).

Enough about me, how was all of yours mothers day? Leave a comment below and don;t be afraid to talk to me, I don't bit(At least not all the time ;)! Oh, I forgot to add this but the weather is absolutely gorgeous today, so glad the storms cleared up!

With a cup of love and a pint of sincerity,

Mandy

OK, I know I have two pictures of myself from the behind but I absolutely love my hair, and how it looks in the picture. For a $1.50 I think it turned out pretty cute.

It's always important to check your mail!

Cat breaks are essential for my well being, especially in the middle of a fun photo session!

Mothers Day!

Hello everyone, tomorrow is mothers day in the U.S., and I absolutely love making presents for my mom. So a few days ago I looked online and found a wonderful idea on how to do an easy diy mothers day present.

Here is the front of the vase I made, I put blue hydrangea's in it so it would bring out the green I painted on the mason jar.

And Here is the back of the jar, I painted on chalkboard paint instead of what the original directions called for just because I thought it would be easier. I really like how it turned out in the back, but my hand writing is awful so I am probably going to get my sister to write on it instead of me!

You may not be able to tell, but today was such a gloomy day, it rained almost the whole time so I just stayed inside watching movies. I saw "Wild" with Reese Witherspoon, it shocks me how beautiful she is even when she is out hiking, and I saw "The Imitation Game" with Benedict Cumberbatch and Keira Knightley. I really like "The Imitation Game" It was absolutely fantastic and very inspiring. I would definitely recommend both movies. Anyways I hope tomorrow will be a much sunnier day! How do you guys feel about Rain and gloomy days?

I hope everyone celebrates the special person that acts as a mother to you in your life, even if it is not mothers day in your country just tell her how much you care :)

With A Boat Load of Love,
Mandy <3

Oliver decided he wanted in on the photo session, he is just too cute :)

First Blog Post & A Bit About Me

It may sound silly but I researched how to start my first blog post (Please don't tell me I'm the only one) and so now I guess is the part where I introduce myself.

OK my name is Mandy Star, I'm currently at the end of my Junior year in high school and will be a Senior very soon (which I am totally excited about!); so that means I'm seventeen years old. I have one older sister and I love her a whole bunch. She is exactly one year and 46 days older then me (and she won't let me forget it), so that means she will be graduating high school very soon, actually in a week (I'm going to miss her sooooo much).

I'm very close to my mom and dad, and love them very much. My dad is in the military so we have moved a few times, this past year I have moved from the sunny state of Florida to St. Louis Missouri.

I have two pets one dog named biscuit who is now 9 1/2 years old and I love him to bits! I also have an adorable kitten (though he really is a cat) who just turned 1 years old named Oliver. We named him after the cat from Oliver & Company, which inspired my blog name. I love taking pictures of them so you will most surely see a TON of them.

What is my Blog about? So I know this may sound silly but I have absolutely no clue. I don't really know what genre it would fit under but I really just wanted to create a safe place. I want to talk about the current happenings in my life and share it with others to see if you guys experience the same things I do. I could be talking about school, or how annoying it is when Biscuit decides he wants to have a snack in the garbage, or when my most adorable cousins come visit me (If there is a genre for that kind of blog please tell me).

Anyways here is my first post, I don't know if I'm doing it correctly but I'm definitely doing something. (:

With a bundle of love and sincerity,

                                                      -Mandy

P.S. How was your guys first blog post, was it nearly as bad
as mine?? :)

So here is some Pictures!!

Oliver loves sleeping in the weirdest positions, do any of your cats do this too?? (It was so hard to chose between just one of the MANY pictures I have of him, you guys should be proud of me)

This is  Biscuit after his bath the other day, before his haircut. I swear no matter how much I wash him he always smells awful! I'll most a picture of his new haircut soon, its so cute!

And Finally here is a picture of Biscuit and I at one of Florida's many Parks, if anyone is visiting Florida, if you have extra time Florida's natural springs are super beautiful. And this may just be my opinion but I like going to the springs, especially this one in particular, more then the beach!!
